  • Why choose Blue Sky Car Rental?

    Blue Sky Car Rental is one of the major local car rental companies in Mauritius.We have a fleet of over 80 vehicles of different categories all of which are licensed vehicles by the National Transport Authority (NTA) of Mauritius. It must be noted that to operate car rental services in Mauritius we need to obtain a contract car license from the (NTA).

    Blue Sky Travel is a company registered with the Mauritius Tourism Authority (MTA) and the National transport Authority to operate car rental services to its clients. It is strongly recommended that you rent a car only with registered company to avoid any illegal charges.

  • Who we are?

    Blue Sky Car Rental is a team of young and dynamic professionals having for one mission and that of ‘Customer Satisfaction’. We are locals and we have been in the Mauritian car rental market and travel and tours industry for many years so it is a guarantee to experience Mauritian hospitality. Our in-house staff speaks English, French, and German fluently.
  • Do I need an international drivers licence to drive in Mauritius?

    Any person holding a valid Driving Permit or Driving Licence issued by a competent foreign authority is able to drive in Mauritius for up to 4 month. For longer period you will need an international driving permit either obtained from your country or may apply in Mauritius.
  • How do I make an online booking with Blue Sky Car Rental?

    We have design an easy online booking system in 4 steps which takes less than 5 minutes to book a car with us.

    • 1st Step – Select the booking period e.g. Pick-up and return Date/Time/Location. Click continue
    • 2nd Step – Select a car categories and it will automatically calculated with the total price including the pickup and return fees.
    • 3rd Step – Choose additional extras e.g. child safety seats, GPS, Airport transfers and chauffeur services etc.
    • 4th Step – Insert your details e.g. your name, location, email address, phone and enter payment methods. Click Confirm Booking to finish booking process.

    • It is that simple! Immediately after booking your vehicle, you will receive a confirmation of receipt via email. As soon as we finish your booking process we will send you a booking confirmation and invoice via email.
  • How do I pay for my booking?

    Thanks to Advanced technology, we can receive payment through a number of different methods. Currently you can pay via bank transfer or online by credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). We require a minimum of 20% down payment to secure a booking. Please note that bank transfers are not available for last minute bookings (less the 3 days before pickup).

  • Is it safe to book a car online with Blue Sky Car Rental?

    Booking a car online with us is 100% safe and your money is guaranteed. Paying your invoices online is reliable and secure with our system.

    We don’t have access to any of your financial information. If you pay with a credit card, the payment is made directly with the servers of our bank.

  • Will I receive the exact vehicle that I chose?

    At Blue Sky Car Rental we guarantee a car group / category and not a model. We will try to deliver the exact vehicle model that you booked; however, there are rare cases when this is not possible because of accidents, repairs etc.

    The good news is you will always receive a vehicle of equivalent or higher value than the one you have chosen.

  • What is the minimum booking duration?

    The minimum booking period is one day. Should a client wish to book a car for less than 24hours, a full day rental will be charged.

  • How do I add optional extras?

    You can simply click on add for any extra features like child seats, satellite navigation (GPS), airport/hotel/airport transfers during the booking process in step 3.

  • Can I cancel a booking?

    You can cancel a reservation online by the 'Modify / Cancel' reservation link free of charge before 72hours prior to pick-up date.

    1. If cancellation is made 72 hours prior to pick-up date.
    Full refund of the prepaid reservation, after deduction of 3% bank charges.

    2. If cancellation is made less than 72 hours before pick-up date.
    Administrative fee of MUR 2,000 + 3% bank charges.

    3. Cancellation on the spot:

    • • 1 day rental - no refund effected
    • • 2 - 5 days' rental = 30% of full rental amount + 3% bank charges.
    • • 6 days' rental or more = 50% of full rental amount + 3% bank charges.

    4. Refunds will be made to the credit source that the original booking was made on.

  • What are the procedures if I am involved in a car accident?

    In case of an accident, please contact our Customer Support (24hours) on (+230) 5940 1000 as soon as possible. Our Customer Assistant will provide you with help for issues like filing a police report, which is mandatory for insurance reasons.

    If the police determine that it was 100 % the fault of the opposing party, you will not have to pay for the damage. If the accident was your fault and the damage exceeds or equals your deposit, we will still only retain the excess amount.

  • What happens in case of breakdown?

    IEven though we have a fleet of well-maintained cars, we cannot eliminate the possibility of a breakdown. We can understand your frustration if this happens during your holidays.

    Therefore we will try to get you a replacement car or roadside assistance as soon as possible.Should any similar situation arise please contact our 24-hour Customer Support, where our friendly staff are waiting to help you out in any situation

  • What is the Insurance and liability policy?

    Blue Sky Car Rental provides full comprehensive insurance coverage (CDW), which includes theft protection (TP). The insurance covers all cases except accidents caused from driving under the influence, violation of the rental terms or culpable negligence.


    Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

    Cars are covered by an insurance policy with an excess of MUR 15,000 to MUR 28,000 depending on the car category.

    Theft Cover (TP)

    This waiver removes liability of theft up to full value of stole. However if value of stolen items exceeds MUR 5000 a non waivable excess of MUR 1,500 is applicable

    Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

    Protection to Car Occupants against death or disability to the limit of MUR300,000 per seat with Medical Expenses limit of Rs 25,000.


    Damages to tyres, rim and under carriage of cars are not covered by insurance and is therefore the responsibility of the hirer.
    Damages caused through drunk driving, gross negligence or disregarding of the rental terms are excluded from the insurance cover.
    Loss or damage of the car keys as well as personal belongings is not covered.
    In case of a cyclone warning of level three or higher, the vehicle must not be used more than two hours after the warning was released.

  • What are the traffic rules?

    The renter is fully responsible for any fine or other consequences of the violation of traffic regulations, parking orders or prohibitions or any laws or regulations during the rental.

    Rentals will be carried out according to the terms and conditions of Blue Sky Car Rentals. Rental agreement to be signed by the renter at the time and place of rental.
